Binny Mathews

Binny has been an integral part of the life at Stinsford Studios for many years. She paints there on a weekly basis and many of her more recent oils are still lifes featuring pots, flowers, and hand-dyed linens from around the studio. Binny was born in Dorset in 1960 and has been exhibiting paintings since 1980. She has been represented annually since 1981 in numerous West End galleries including The National Portrait Gallery, The Royal Society of Portrait Painters, The Mall Galleries and The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. One woman shows include: Henry Wyndham Fine Art, Cadogan Contemporary and The Chelsea Arts Club.

In 1989 she won the Elizabeth Greenshield Foundation Award for figurative painting. In 2006 was made an associate member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. Her works are to be found in the collection of the American Embassy (London), The National Trust, HRH The Prince of Wales, British Gas, Carpenters Hall, Seagram and others in the UK, Europe, China and the USA.
