Gabriella Bailey

Gabriella Bailey (b.1999) is a figurative painter. She is currently based in Oxford and London,. Gabriella’s main subjects are figure compositions and still lives; she usually paints directly from the model in the studio or from sketches made out and about. Whether she is working in Oil or Drypoint, Gabriella tends to work in an immediate and intuitive manner: her paintings are characterised by rapid brushstrokes and soft glowing colour; her Drypoints by fluid lines and simplified forms. Gabriella has been gently influenced by artists including Christopher Wood and Gwen John and the lyrical tradition to which they belong. She has exhibited in a two-man show ‘A World Away’ in Oxford, with Thomas Spencer Fine Art, the NEAC at the Mall Galleries in London, and regularly with White Space Art, Totnes. She is currently undertaking a Fine Art Masters at City and Guilds London Art School.
